Embodied Yoga Philosophy: A 6-month Journey
A cumulative, embodied, practical exploration of yoga philosophy — integrating theory, practice, reflection and community over six months.
Do you want to delve into yoga philosophy in a way that is practical - not because it tells you how to live your life, but because it invites you to ask questions and reflect?
An approach to yoga philosophy that does not bypass the body through the mind, but prioritises the wisdom of the body by inviting you to slow down and go inwards?
Where exploration is deep, slow, somatic, embodied, reflective… and perhaps even life changing.
And where theory doesn't overtake and overcomplicate practice, but complements and deepens it, to help you live a more meaningful and rich life…
If the answer is yes, then these mystical monthly evenings are the place for you. Join for the full 6-month journey for a layered, cumulative exploration of yoga philosophy — where each month builds on the last, supported by reflective practices, embodied homework, and an ongoing community space.

Monthly sessions include:
-
Introduction to key philosophical theme & set of concepts from yoga philosophy for thematic, grounded & digestible learning, month by month
-
Contemplative prompts to reflect on themes in relation to your own life through journaling and meditation.
-
Somatic & Deeply Restorative Supreme Release Yoga to explore concepts and questions through the body in a slow, receptive and restful way.
-
Community Space to explore and share
-
Homework & intention setting - to help explore and integrate philosophy into your life, after the session
Plus between sessions:
-
Telegram Community for continued support and a sharing of insights, homework, and reflections.
-
Access session recordings to repeat practices and return to ideas
-
Weekly inspiration from Floss in relation to the month's theme, to help ground and continue enquiry.
-
Further prompts, suggested practices, and 'contemplative homeworks' - to help continue bringing the teachings into your body & life through practice
Explore Yoga as so much more than physical posture.

This is an intentionally slow container.

A Slow, Deep & Meaningful Journey into Embodied Yoga Philosophy over 6-months
➤ April - Practice, Repetition, Commitment: The First Steps on the Path
At the start of our journey, we explore the role of practice - abhyasa - within yoga philosophy. We ask, "what does it mean to commit to a daily or regular practice - sadhana - and what could this look like beyond modern asana or posturally-focused yoga." Expect to be introduced to new ideas and techniques that will inspire how you think about your practice in a way that values your uniqueness, and works for you. Get ready to set an intention going forward - to commit to your practice, whatever that looks like for you!
➤ May - Bhakti and Devotion: A Heart-Led Approach to Enlightenment
This session introduces what some have argued is the quickest, easiest and most accessible path to enlightenment - the path of Bhakti, loving devotion. You will be introduced to the theory of bhakti, and practical ways to bring it into your life and practice. We will explore how resonant you feel with this path.
➤ June - Yoga and the Mind, non-attachment, Raja Yoga
This month introduces us to some of the most classical and well-known ideas from yoga philosophy - that yoga is a technique of 'controlling' or 'focusing' the mind in order to purify oneself from conditioning, and find ultimate freedom. Practically, we will explore the principle of 'vairagya' or non-attachment. Get ready to start noticing how aversion and desire come up in your life, and how your body responds to these experiences. Awareness is the first step in creating space, and finding peace and freedom!
➤ July - Gross to subtle; elements, earth & nervous system (individual constitution & the particular)
In this session, we explore how yoga practice can be seen as a journey from the gross to the subtle. We explore this tangibly in relation to the first five chakras, which are reflective of the elements - earth, water, fire, air, and ether. We explore these as qualities within our bodies, reflecting on which elements may need care and nourishment within ourselves.
➤ August - Microcosm and Macrocosm; chakras, devices, imagination
In this session, we explore a fundamental view found in Yoga and Tantra: that as the infinite universe exists without, so it exists within. As the Shiva Samhita says, "XXX." In this session, we explore the subtle spine...
➤ September - Sound, vibration, speech, creative potential, shiva-shakti, lila, play
In this session, we explore how the non-dual Tantric traditions understand reality as comprised of vibration and sound, asking; what does it mean for me to speak, create and be silent in the world? Practically, throughout the month, we reflect on how we speak in our own lives, and in turn the kind of realities we create through our speech.

Floss creates much-needed spaces for yoga teachers and practitioners to share, enquire and discuss from a place of curiosity. She is wonderful at creating an inviting, comfortable, atmosphere in the way that she gently facilitates her sessions."
— Elene, Yoga Teacher, UK

In my practice this new knowledge helps me feel part of something bigger than just turning up for class and I have a much more profound sense of purpose and practice of yoga as a way of living, not just an exercise class of asana.

This is for those...
-
Want to explore yoga philosophy without it feeling overwhelming, overly intellectual, or disembodied.
-
Long for slow, deep, and reliable learning.
-
Want yoga philosophy to feel relevant to your actual life.
-
Want rest, nourishment, and a different pace.
-
Don’t want to do this alone.
-
Want to ask questions, not just inherit answers.
You don’t need any prior background in yoga philosophy. You just need curiosity and a willingness to explore. Each month we’ll focus on one theme, introducing around three key concepts. You’ll engage with them through movement, reflection, journaling, and simple practices to carry into your life. You will learn — but slowly. Intentionally. In a way that lands in your body and stays with you.
