Practical Yoga Philosophy:

A 6-Month Immersion

A slow, embodied exploration of yoga philosophy through practice, reflection, and community starting this April.

This is for those who want to discover the riches of yoga philosophy through mind, body, and spirit - not as a set of ideas to blindly follow, but as resources for exploration and discovery in relation to our modern life.

Over six months, the teachings unfold through monthly workshops that combine philosophical lectures, embodied yoga practice, and contemplative reflection, with ongoing support and practices to explore throughout the month. Through theory and practice, you will be introduced to a broad arc of yoga philosophy teachings in an accessible and experiential way, allowing yoga philosophy to become a living practice of enquiry that gradually unfolds in your body, your practice, and your life.

A practical, slow and juicy approach to yoga philosophy...

What Each Month Includes
First Monday of the month, 7-9 pm, from April 2026. Recording available if you can't make it live, or if you want to rewatch.
Each monthly gathering is a spacious evening of learning, reflection, and embodied practice. Rather than overwhelming you with theory, each session focuses on one key theme from yoga philosophy, explored slowly and experientially.

Across the six months, you will be guided through:

  • Philosophical Teaching
A clear and grounded introduction to key ideas from yoga philosophy, shared in an accessible lecture-style format that makes complex teachings digestible and meaningful.

  • Embodied Exploration
Slow, somatic and deeply restorative Supreme Release Yoga practices that allow you to explore philosophical ideas through the body — not just the intellect

  • Contemplative Reflection
Journaling prompts, meditation, and guided enquiry to help you reflect on the teachings in relation to your own life and experience.

  • Shared Conversation
A supportive group space to ask questions, share insights, and explore ideas together.

  • Integration Practices
Gentle prompts and intentions to carry the themes of the session into your life in the weeks that follow.
Between Sessions
The exploration continues throughout the month, with gentle support to help the teachings settle and deepen.

You’ll receive:
• Access to the session recording so you can revisit practices and teachings.
• A private Telegram community for ongoing reflection, questions, and shared insights.
• Weekly inspiration and prompts from Floss connected to the month’s philosophical theme.
• Optional contemplative practices to help integrate the ideas into your body, practice, and daily life.

Why This Structure
Rather than rushing through ideas, this journey allows yoga philosophy to unfold slowly and meaningfully over time in relation to your own life and experience in the world. Learning is not about accumulating knowledge for the sake of it, but a slow and reflective approach to learning which brings it into our world and experience. Each month builds on the last — giving space for reflection, practice, and conversation — so that the teachings can gradually become something you live and enquire into, not just something you learn about.

... rooted in the value of embodied, reflective enquiry.

"Floss creates much-needed spaces for yoga teachers and practitioners to share, enquire and discuss from a place of curiosity. She is wonderful at creating an inviting, comfortable, atmosphere in the way that she gently facilitates her sessions."

— Elene, Yoga Teacher, UK

"In my practice this new knowledge helps me feel part of something bigger than just turning up for class and I have a much more profound sense of purpose and practice of yoga as a way of living, not just an exercise class of asana."

— M, Yoga Philosophy Student, UK

The Transformation

The last thing I want is for yoga philosophy to be overwhelming or stressful. I do want it to be inspiring and transformative. That is why this immersion includes both theory and practice; embodiment and reflection.

Over the 6-months, you will be introduced to different practices and ideas, and you are invited to find what resonates and bring it into your life in a manageable and enjoyable way. During our time together, I will really encourage and support you to develop a personal, daily or regular spiritual practice (sadhana) – one that works for you, your life, and your schedule.  As you will discover, small, regular steps are where true transformation happens, and is how yoga and yoga philosophy becomes part of your life; in a gentle, manageable, and complementary way.

Somatic & Supreme Release Yoga

When most people think of yoga, what comes to mind is ‘vinyasa flow yoga’ with its emphasise on exercise, flexibility and dynamic, fast-paced movements between a series of yoga asanas, or postures.

Vinyasa flow has its benefits, but it is just one approach - and it’s actually a very modern evolution in yoga’s multi-thousand-year history!

Across this 6-month Practical Yoga Philosophy Immersion, you will not only be introduced to yoga philosophically, but to a different approach to yoga practice: one that, unlike most modern yoga classes, is slow, juicy, deep, sensory, meditative, and restful.

As you will discover, yoga philosophy does not teach us to push through or force transformation, but rather to slow down, go within and listen. This is where true transformation begins to happen! In our busy and often overwhelming lives, we don’t always need to ‘do’ more; what we actually need is to slow down, go within, and find rest. And this is exactly what we will do through our practical explorations together – through Somatic and Supreme Release Restorative Yoga.

These practices have transformed my and my students lives for the better, and I can’t wait to share them, in conversation with practical yoga philosophy, with you.

Through this container, you can expect to:

• Develop a more sustainable and nourishing personal sādhanā (spiritual practice).
• Relate differently to desire, aversion, and habitual patterns of the mind.
• Gain a clearer understanding of key strands of classical yoga and tantra.
• Feel more at home in subtle awareness, imagination, and inner reflection.
• Learn to speak, practice and move through life with greater clarity and intention.
• Experience yoga as a lived, embodied philosophy — not simply a set of ideas.

Explore Yoga as so much more than physical posture.

Hi, I’m Floss — a yoga teacher and facilitator of embodied yoga philosophy.

With a Master’s in the Philosophy of Religion from the University of Cambridge, and years of studying yoga philosophy in India, Nepal, and with the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies, I now facilitate yoga and embodied philosophy classes, workshops, and courses in Cambridge, online, and as Faculty for Embodied Philosophy.

My work bridges grounded academic scholarship on the philosophy of yoga with embodied practice and practical integration — helping modern yogis and yoga teachers bring yoga philosophy into their lives in ways that are intellectually rigorous, personally meaningful, and spiritually rich.

Wherever you are in your journey, I would love to welcome you into this space of learning, practice, and enquiry.

If you...

  • want to explore yoga philosophy without it feeling overwhelming, overly intellectual, or disembodied.

  • long for slow, deep, and reliable learning.

  • want yoga philosophy to feel relevant to your actual life.

  • seek rest, nourishment, and a different pace of practice.

  • Want to ask questions, not just blindly follow inherited answers.

  • Don’t want to do this alone, but with the support of a container & community that holds you

then this 6-month Practical Yoga Philosophy Immersion is for you.
