About

In today’s modern yoga yoga world, many of us are seeking a more grounded, authentic and reflective connection to yoga—one that honours its complex roots while supporting meaningful practice in the present. This 12-week course offers an accessible yet rigorous journey into the history and philosophy of yoga, balancing academic scholarship with personal enquiry and lived experience. Together, we’ll explore key texts, ideas, and evolutions in yoga’s long and diverse history—from ancient ascetic traditions to modern postural practice—while making space for contemplative practice, discussion, reflection and integration. Whether you’re a teacher or a committed practitioner, this course is designed to help you understand where your practice comes from, clarify your values, and deepen your teaching or personal path. The course includes: - 6 in-depth pre-recorded lectures, released biweekly - 6 short themed pre-recorded meditation/yoga practices - 6 live group calls (Wednesdays at 6.30pm UK time) for Q&A, reflection, and discussion - Interactive course workbook   - Suggested Reading list — to further your knowledge & enquiry beyond the course with topics that interest you. - Optional 1:1 mentoring with Floss for personalised exploration This course welcomes practitioners from all backgrounds, spiritual traditions or none—what matters most is your curiosity and openness.
