About the event
'Yoga assists,' - where a yoga teacher uses their touch and bodyweight to help students deepen into and find alignment in poses - are common in yoga classes. For many yoga students, they are a highly enjoyable and beneficial experience. Yet, within the majority of yoga classes, there is little space to explore these touch-based practices in two-way dialogue, where both student and teacher can communicate effectively and safely.
This Partner & Assisted Yoga workshop series seeks to offer a safe space to explore yoga and touch-based practices in communicative dialogue. Run by two yoga teachers, Floss & Bethany, each session will begin with a yoga-flow warm up followed by an exploration of hands-on assists and practices taken from acroyoga and partner yoga. The sessions will end with a relaxing cool down and savasana (relaxation).
Exploring touch-based practices not only has a positive effect on the body and the mind…
