Philosophy and Yoga

My Story

Hey. My name is Florence and I am the founder of Flossophy: Fashion, Yoga and Philosophy!
It goes without saying I have always had a fascination with people, society and the bigger questions in life. At University I studied Sociology and Anthropology, the study of what it means to be human. Yet for me, academia did not fulfil my deeply intuitive desire for knowledge: for truth. In fact, the more I studied the more it became apparent that there is no absolute truth, only a lot of difference, in our world.
Then I discovered Yoga. Although I had practiced some asana before and have always enjoyed movement, it was not until my first Kundalini Yoga class that I realised there was more in it than getting flexible. Energy, orgasm- whatever you want to call it- this experience was felt so deeply it pulled me on to a new path. From that day forward, I knew that Yoga and embodiment was going to be a big part of my life.
In February 2019 I left London to go on a solo trip to India to study Traditional Tantra Yoga and undertake my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Course. But my journey did not end there! I explored spirituality further through sadhana, teaching and sharing with others, dance, meditation and other styles of yoga, even completing a ten-day vipassana meditation course!
I also founded my own sustainable fashion brand, Flossophy Fashion!
I was lucky enough to meet some really wonderful people who gave me support and confidence in my vision: to ethically create unique and authentic pieces from upcycled silk satin saris, working with local family run tailors, so that others could look good, feel good and do good too.
I am currently studying an Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in Theology, Religion and Philosophy at The University of Cambridge. I also am privately available for group or 1-2- yoga classes, in Cambridge or online! teaching yoga and meditation online for groups and private classes. Please email me at flossophyfashion@gmail.com for all enquiries!
